Workshop for local groups
The second workshop was held at the INVESTEKO S.A. headquarters with students from the Construction School Complex in Chorzów. The goal was to introduce young people to the circular economy and the practical application of plastic processing technologies.
The workshop began with an introductory lecture by Piotr Góral, expert at EkoPartner Silesia Sp. z o.o. and manager of the PLC plant. Participants learned about the properties of different plastics and the challenges involved in their recycling.
A key part of the session was a live demonstration showing how various materials react to fire and water. This engaging presentation sparked lively discussion, with students asking questions about plastic identification—such as recognizing materials by their scent when heated.
The group then toured the PLC plant, which showcases a proprietary technology for plastic separation and processing developed within the project. Students saw firsthand how the technology works and supports the circular economy by closing the loop in the plastic lifecycle.
After a short networking break, the students took part in a Q&A session to deepen their understanding. The event concluded with a guided tour of the historic KWK Polska Coal Mine Tower, led by Witold Szwedkowski, communication manager for the LIFE Archiclima project.
By participating in the plasticLIFEcycle workshops, students gained valuable insight into the challenges of plastic waste management. Initiatives like this play a key role in raising ecological awareness and promoting sustainable development.
