Together for the Planet – A report on plasticLIFEcycle’s participation in Eco-picnic 2025

plasticLIFEcycle at the Eco-picnic in Tychy: Innovation, Education, and Community Engagement
On June 28–29, 2025, the plasticLIFEcycle project team took part in the Eco-picnic organized during the Tychy City Festival. The open-air event attracted hundreds of residents passionate about environmental protection and sustainable development.

Education in action
As part of the project’s educational and outreach activities, the team joined the festival’s open house for local initiatives, offering residents a direct opportunity to explore how circular solutions can shape everyday life. Through interactive demonstrations and conversations, the team helped inspire more responsible attitudes toward resource use and waste reduction.

Hands-on learning
Visitors to the plasticLIFEcycle booth could take part in two engaging, hands-on activities:

3D printing from recycled plastics – showing how discarded materials can gain a new life as useful products, illustrating the practical side of the circular economy;

Planting and greening – with the help of participants, over 180 plants were placed in recycled pots, combining ecological awareness with tangible environmental action.

Beyond the workshops, dozens of conversations about recycling, PLC technology, and modern sustainability solutions took place, highlighting strong local interest in innovation for the environment.

A community that cares
The huge turnout and enthusiasm from participants confirmed that environmental education is a powerful force for change. The event demonstrated that technology and nature can work hand in hand empowering communities to act for the climate and natural resources.

Technology serving sustainability
The plasticLIFEcycle project shows how innovative technologies such as a pilot PLC installation for sorting and processing mixed plastics can be combined with education and community engagement to make a measurable environmental impact.
Events like the Eco-picnic play a key role in building ecological awareness, helping people understand both the challenges and solutions of waste management and sustainable development.

A heartfelt thank you to Master – Odpady i Energia Sp. z o.o. for their invitation and excellent organization of the event.
